Rayol-Canadel-sur-Mer
Mediterranean garden : Mediterranean landscapes and climates of the world (Australia- California - Mediterranean basin) The Domaine du Rayol is a protected natural area owned by the Conservatoire du Littoral. Landscape gardener Gilles Clément has designed the Jardin des Méditerranées, an evocation of the Mediterranean climate landscapes of the world (Australia, South Africa, California, Chile, the Canaries, the Mediterranean Basin) as well as subtropical or arid climates (subtropical America, subtropical Asia, New Zealand, Mexico). A real invitation to travel!
You can visit the garden on your own, on a guided tour (no extra charge for admission, registration on site) or with an audio-guide. Allow at least 1? to 5 hours to wander the many paths that criss-cross the estate and discover the diversity of the landscapes on display.
On-site: permanent exhibition "Domaine du Rayol: from the resort to Gilles Clément's Mediterranean Garden" in the Villa Rayolet, and on the marine environment at the Maison de la Plage; temporary exhibitions; themed tours; children's activities; snorkelling trail; concerts; events; restaurant "Le Café des Jardiniers", specialist bookshop; ecological nursery.
