"The Red Lighthouse"

Historic site and monument

Saint-Tropez
Located at the end of the harbor pier, the Red Lighthouse of Saint-Tropez is one of the village’s landmarks. Rebuilt exactly as it was in 2001, it bears witness to Saint-Tropez’s maritime history and offers a lovely view of the gulf.
A symbol of Saint-Tropez’s maritime heritage, the Red Lighthouse stands at the end of the harbor’s pier, facing the Mediterranean Sea.

Built in the 19th century, the original lighthouse was destroyed in 1944 during World War II. Rebuilt exactly as it was and put back into service in 2001, it has regained its iconic silhouette and continues to mark the entrance to the harbor.

Standing 15 meters tall, this lighthouse has also left its mark on the village’s artistic history, notably inspiring the painter Paul Signac.

Today, a stroll along the pier takes you to this must-see attraction in Saint-Tropez, where you can enjoy a view of the harbor, the village, and the gulf. The lighthouse is not open to visitors, but it can be admired from the pier.
