What if a simple walk along the beach could help us to better understand and protect the Mediterranean coastline?
Come and explore Gigaro Beach and try your hand at Biolit, a citizen science programme that invites everyone to observe and gain a better understanding of the natural riches of the coastline.

Accompanied by a science guide, you’ll learn to recognise the intertidal zone – the collection of natural elements deposited by the waves (Posidonia leaves, shells, driftwood, etc.). Although often overlooked, it plays a vital role in the functioning of beaches, protecting the coastline from erosion and supporting remarkable biodiversity.

During the walk, you’ll discover how to make observations as part of the Biolit programme and how everyone can, in their own way, contribute to a better understanding of these natural environments.

A friendly experience that offers a fresh perspective on Gigaro Beach and reveals that the treasures of the coastline are sometimes hidden where you least expect them.
