Jazz Evening with Baby Face Hot Five

Baby Face Hot Five is a five-piece band from the south of France that pays homage to the HOT American music of the 1920s by the great creators of New Orleans jazz, Louis Armstrong, Jimmie Noone, Sidney Bechet and Jelly Roll Morton.

This popular, upbeat music for dancing and partying has been stirring hearts and feet all over the world ever since.
Claude Luter, Sidney Bechet's disciple in France, used to give nicknames to the musicians in his circle and nicknamed Renaud Perrais ‘Baby Face’ when he came to him for clarinet lessons as a child. Baby Face Hot Five is therefore also a nod to traditional French jazz musicians.

The band is made up of five multi-instrumentalists:
Marie Gottrand on piano, washboard and vocals
François Corbi on clarinet and alto saxophone
Renaud Perrais on trumpet, saxophone and clarinet
Thibaut Roussel on banjo
Alexis Borrely on trombone and sub-bassophone

This concert promises festive, popular music made for dancing and celebrating, sure to set hearts racing and feet tapping.
