Staying united to stay the course, breathing in unison within a close-knit intimacy: this is the leitmotif of Jann Gallois’s new creation, which pulses at full throttle, driven by Patrick de Oliveira’s electronic and percussive music. Filled with a wave of intense energy, the sextet weaves a hypnotic and galvanizing dance in which hip-hop and contemporary choreography “sprays streams of positive and benevolent emotions” onto the audience, electrified by its message of joy and hope in the face of the world’s turmoil. A message inspired by Anne Dufourmantelle’s book, *La puissance de la douceur* (The Power of Gentleness), which came as both a shock and a source of solace to the choreographer, who sought to bring its light to the stage. But she does so in her own unique, embodied, and sensitive way—through the nuanced alternation of solos (like a necessary moment of rest), breaths, rhythms, intensities, and a sequence of combinatorial movements. Mirrored gestures that take hold of the dancers one after another, creating a moving entity that can exist only through collective strength.
