Now in its fifth year, the Saint-Tropez Science Forum explores the promises and risks of artificial intelligence: Will it transform our lives, our careers, and our society for the better… or for the worse?
Titled “Artificial Intelligence: A Revolution for Better or for Worse?”, this conference will bring together scientists, researchers, experts, journalists, and specialists in technological transformation to examine the upheavals already taking place in our societies.

The event will open on Friday, November 13, with a lecture on “AI Today” by one of France’s leading experts, Jean-Gabriel Ganascia, professor of computer science at Sorbonne University.

On Saturday, two roundtable discussions will provide an opportunity to exchange perspectives. The first, “Should We Be Afraid of AI?”, will address issues such as security, misinformation, harmful content, and changes in the world of work, featuring Colonel Christophe Torrisi, AI advisor to the National Gendarmerie for the PACA region, Kevin Pardo, a specialist in AI applied to the workplace, and researcher Serena Villata, moderated by Mathieu Vidard, producer of “La Terre au carré” on France Inter.

In the afternoon, also hosted by Mathieu Vidard, the roundtable discussion “Is AI Really Intelligent? Are We Still in Control?” will feature, among others, Dr. Marie-Nathalie Jauffret, a specialist in biodigitalization; Grégoire Colombet, a consultant and author of the book “Human or AI: Who Will Decide the Future?”; Bruno Patino, president of the ARTE network and author of the book “AI: The Age of Human Obsolescence,” and Dr. Sacha Brun, an astrophysicist. The day will conclude with a book-signing session featuring the speakers’ works.

Finally, on Sunday, November 15, philosopher and essayist Luc Ferry will close out this year’s event with a lecture titled “AI: Great Replacement or Complementarity?”, followed by a Q&A session with the audience moderated by Sacha Brun and a book signing.

Three days to understand, question, and debate the promises, limitations, and consequences of artificial intelligence.
