Saint-Tropez
From Saturday 8 June to Sunday 27 October 2024
"So that France and Humanity may live." To mark the 80th anniversary of the liberation of France, in addition to a historical exhibition on the port, the Musée d'histoire martitime de la Citadelle will be offering an interpretation area dedicated to the Second World War in Saint-Tropez and the Provence landings.
This interpretation area will provide an insight into how the landings took place. The complexity of the operations contrasts with the apparent simplicity of the assault waves that poured men onto the beaches.
The Provence landings are considered to be one of the best prepared and executed operations of the whole of the Second World War.
