Concert by pianist Ionah MAIATSKY and the Orchestre de Chambre de Toulon-Var (quartet + double bass), performing Frédéric CHOPIN's sublime "Concerto pour piano n°2".
Prior to this, the quintet will open the recital with MOZART's "Divertimento n°3", followed by MOZART's "Piano Quartet n°1", and finally, on solo piano, Ionah MAIATSKY will perform George CRUMB's "Dream Images".

Born in 2001, Ionah MAIATSKY, a pianist of Franco-Slavic origin, has already distinguished himself on the international scene with numerous awards.
In 2021, he won First Prize in the Albert Roussel Competition in Paris. In 2022, he won Second Prize and several other awards - including the Prix de la Belle Saison, Prix de l'Académie Villecroze and Prix des Collégiens - at the Lyon International Chamber Music Competition, alongside cellist Paul-Marie Kuzma. In 2023, he won the Grand Prix de l'Académie Ravel in Saint-Jean-de-Luz, and in 2024 the Third Prize at the Pierre Barbizet Competition in Marseille. In 2025, he released his first album, Ermitage, with Paul-Marie Kuzma, on the Scala Music label.

The Orchestre de Chambre de Toulon et du Var was founded in 1987 by bassist Patrice SERRUS. Artistic director for over fifteen years has been Manuel CARTIGNY. A professional ensemble of 15 string players, the musicians are also joined by a pianist, winds, percussion, etc., depending on program requirements.
For over 35 years, one of the OCTV's main missions has been to offer classical concerts in the communes of the Var. The orchestra's aim is to promote classical music in all its forms, and its variable line-up means that its programs are always of the highest quality.
The orchestra participates in the training and professionalization of young singers and instrumentalists graduating from the Toulon, Aix and Marseille regional conservatories. The orchestra also regularly performs awareness-raising concerts for underprivileged audiences. Finally, for several years now, the OCTV has been introducing the very young to the magic of music by regularly performing in Toulon's nursery and elementary schools.
