Concert - An Hour with the Organ - Bernard FOCCROULE

Director of the Festival International d'Art Lyrique d'Aix-en-Provence, Bernard FOCROULE is a Belgian organist, composer and opera director born in Liège on November 23, 1953. His participation in the Festival International d'Art Contemporain de Royan in 1974 marked the start of an international career. An organist renowned for his recordings of Bach organ works, he is deeply committed to Baroque as well as contemporary music. Professor of musical analysis at the Conservatoire de Liège, he has written numerous pieces for the organ. On January 1, 2007, he took over from Stéphane LISSNER as director of the Festival international d'art Lyrique d'Aix-en-Provence. Bernard FOCCROULE has made some thirty recordings, including the complete organ works of J.S. Bach. He is president of the Opera Europa association based in Brussels, bringing together 104 member companies in 33 different countries.
