Plan-de-la-Tour
The history of Les Marquets is rooted in the region’s rich winemaking tradition. It was founded in 1962 by the village winemakers and produces high-quality wines that honor tradition and the terroir.
The village’s winemakers gradually stopped producing their wine in private cellars. They then decided to join forces, and since then, the association Les Marquets/Les Vignerons du Plan de la Tour has brought together approximately 55 winemakers, representing a total area of 183 hectares. This vineyard is one of the prestigious terroirs of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. Côtes de Provence AOC wines account for more than 90% of their production.The Marquets winery produces nearly 90% of its harvest as rosé wines. The selection of grape varieties and the winemakers’ expertise allow them to craft very pleasant, fruity, silky, and very pale wines. The range includes several cuvées:
- Cuvée Les Terrasses du Golfe: a wine crafted in the tradition of Provençal wines, a classic expression of our terroir that won a gold medal at the 2024 Féminalise World Wine Competition;
- Cuvée Esquisse des Marquets: an emblem of the Provençal art of living, a wonderfully convivial wine meant to be shared.
Cuvée Opus des Marquets: Awarded a prestigious gold medal at the 2024 Féminalise World Competition, this is a cuvée brimming with elegance.
Grand Œuvre Cuvée: The pinnacle of the Marquets’ expertise, a cuvée you absolutely must discover to elevate your gatherings.
Each wine is crafted with the utmost care, combining traditional and modern winemaking techniques, and reflects their commitment to sustainability and environmental preservation.
The granite-rich terroir, unique to the village of Plan-de-la-Tour, is very low in humus. It also produces excellent, well-balanced red wines with aromas of ripe fruit—some of which are aged for several years in the barrel cellar—as well as fabulous white wines made from the Rolle grape variety, which yield highly floral wines that are very much in vogue right now.
Les Marquets embodies passion, tradition, and quality in the Provençal wine industry.
You can discover their wines at the must-visit restaurants in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, at local supermarkets, or at our wine shop, open every day except Sunday, where you’ll also find a selection of local specialties: olive oil, anchoïade, tapenade, terrines, aperitif wines, etc.
