Palaeography workshop

Palaeography workshop given by Elisabeth Sauze, archivist, palaeographer.
The workshop takes place in a friendly atmosphere and is adapted to the level of each participant.

Using the municipal archives of La Garde-Freinet and notarial acts of various origins, this workshop will teach you how to decipher the writing and abbreviations of ancient texts. But it is not enough to transcribe them, you must then read them and understand the expressions and their meaning in the context of the time. This is an opportunity to take a leap back in time and immerse yourself in local history and their preoccupations, which are sometimes very close to our own.
