La Grimobile: soapbox race

Grimaud welcomes ‘La Grimobile’: a fun and crazy soapbox race! With crazy drivers, spectacular skids and an electric atmosphere, the event promises to be one of the most unusual in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez.

Saturday 18 April 2026 between 4 pm and 10 pm.
Sunday 19 April 2026 between 9.30 am and 8 pm.

New for 2026: the ‘Grimobile’ will take place over two (crazy) days: a night race on Saturday evening and the whole day on Sunday for a double dose of fun.

On a 300-metre circuit starting from the Town Hall forecourt, crossing the Place de l'Église and Place Vieille, and finishing at Place Neuve, the craziest soapboxes will race down the village streets to the amazement of visitors.

Here is the detailed programme:

- SATURDAY 18 APRIL 2026, evening event! 20 vehicles, the 10 best of which will be selected for the final the following day

* 4.15pm-4.45pm: Concert by Acou’sur!
* 4:45 p.m.: Inauguration of the circuit
* 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.: Untimed trial run (during the day) (one run per vehicle for single-seaters, two runs for two-seaters)
* 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.: 1st timed session (daytime)
* 7:30pm-8:30pm: Acou'sur concert!
* 8:45pm to 9:45pm: 2nd timed session (night-time!)
* 9:45pm-10:00pm: Acou'sur concert!
* 10:00pm: End of activities

- SUNDAY 19 APRIL 2026 - 30 vehicles, with the top 15 qualifying for the afternoon final

* 11:00am to 1:00pm: Trial run (one run per vehicle for single seats, two runs for double seats)
* 1:15pm to 1:45pm: Concert (strolling) by Hot Wax!
* 2:00 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.: 1st timed session
* 3:15 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.: 2nd timed session
* 4:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.: Concert (strolling) by Hot Wax!

Grand finale with 25 vehicles, featuring the 10 fastest from Saturday evening and the 15 fastest from Sunday!
* 5:00 p.m. to 5:15 p.m.: Presentation of the teams and parade of candidates (including Jules)
* 5:30pm to 6:30pm: Timed final (one run only)
* 6:30pm-7pm: Concert (strolling) by Hot Wax!
* 7pm: Prize-giving ceremony
* 7:30pm-8pm: Concert (fixed) by Hot Wax!
* 8pm: End of entertainment

The atmosphere will be lively throughout the weekend with DJ Jessica at the turntables, whose energetic set and ability to get the crowd going are sure to be a hit. An expert in the art of mixing, she brilliantly juggles different musical styles to thrill the audience and guarantee a lively atmosphere.

On Saturday evening, to keep the party going, Les Acou'sur will also be there, setting the stage alight with three live concerts. Acou'sur is a dose of infectious good energy!
A varied repertoire that you are sure to know, revisited in an energetic and fun country style, with masterful live performances and a festive atmosphere.

The band Hot-Wax is coming live with powerful, generous and incredibly infectious rock. Catchy riffs, raw energy and explosive stage presence: every concert becomes a real party. An intense, authentic and unmissable show for all lovers of rock music.

While the soapboxes race down the track, younger children can also have fun on their own circuit, driving pedal cars. A space designed for the whole family to enjoy the event to the full.

Laughter and good humour will be guaranteed throughout the event!
