International Mondioring Competition

Grimaud Entertainment/recreation Demonstration

From Saturday 7 to Sunday 8 March 2026.

If you thought dog sports were all about fetching a ball or doing ‘sit-down’ in a quiet garden, buckle up! Mondioring is the ultimate discipline for dogs that have as many brain cells as they do muscles.

Imagine a huge playground where every competition is unique. Unlike other more ‘rigid’ disciplines, Mondioring focuses on diversity and surprise. The programme is divided into three main pillars:

Obedience (good manners): This is not your typical heelwork. The dog must remain unmoved by unusual distractions (toys, food, noises) and respond to every command.

Jumping (the ‘Parkour’): Hurdles, palisades or long jumps... our four-legged athletes leap through the air with an elegance worthy of the best gymnasts.

Biting (Protection): This is the most spectacular part. The dog must protect its owner or an object from an ‘assistant’ (in protective clothing) who plays the role of the intruder. Be careful, here the dog must be able to think on its feet and let go instantly on command.

Why is it fun? Because each club creates its own staging! One day you're in a construction site setting, the next day you're in the middle of a fair with balloons everywhere. It's a sport that requires close cooperation: the handler and the dog form a tight-knit team that must adapt to the unexpected with a smile.

In short, it's a great show, an intense sport, but above all, it's about immense mutual respect between humans and animals.

The theme of this competition will be ‘the night of the witches’. The dogs will have to deal with ‘surprise elements’ prepared by the club to test their mental and physical agility.

CSAU - Brevet ech. 1, 2 and 3.

Organised by the Golfe de Grimaud Kennel club.
