Saint-Tropez
Enjoy the legendary Saint-Tropez tart, created by A.Micka in 1955, and the other sweet treats found in the many bakers-pâtisseries. In 1955, Alexandre Micka, creator of La Tarte Tropézienne ®, opened his first pâtisserie in ‘Place de la Mairie’, right in the heart of Saint-Tropez.

Amongst the sweet treats he had on offer, Alexandre Micka had a brioche with cream inspired by his grandmother’s recipe, which remains a closely guarded secret. Brigitte Bardot discovered this creamy brioche during the shooting of the Roger Vadim film ‘And God Created Woman’.
She fell in love with this sweet treat and became an ardent advocate of the dessert, even suggesting the name La Tarte Tropézienne ® to Alexandre Micka!
The story behind the recipe combined with the legendary Bardot has helped make Saint-Tropez famous throughout the world.

When Albert Dufrêne took over from Alexandre Micka in 1985, the latter entrusted him with the handwritten recipe.

Every day, the cream for the La Tarte Tropézienne ® is made in top secret in the atelier in Cogolin. Unique skills and knowledge are required to create this delicate combination of two different creams spread across the middle of a moist brioche sprinkled with a drift of crunchy sugar granules.
