The Fort Freinet, between history and legend

La Garde-Freinet
Heritage walk
Laurent Boudinot, in charge of heritage, invites you to discover the old village of La Garde-Freinet, located on a rocky outcrop. The ancient village of La Garde-Freinet, set on a rocky outcrop, dominates all the surrounding valleys. Protected by an impressive moat and natural cliffs, it can be reached by a steep path, winding in some places. The organisation of the village is still visible through the remains of the 12th century walls or the main street that separates the village from the "castle". Fort Freinet is one of those exceptional and rare sites that can be visited.
