In Ramatuelle, standing on fertile ground between land and sea, is Domaine La Tourraque, a vineyard estate where wine-making knowledge has been handed down through the family since 1805. A SHORT HISTORY OF THE ESTATE
A hundred years ago, this former family farm was almost entirely self-s ufficient, living on fishing and hunting and on the cultivation of fruits, vegetables, cereals, olive oil and – of course – wine. As the years went by, agriculture gave way to viticulture. The family keeps the traditions of wine-making alive to this day, producing A.O.P. classified wines
on the national park of Port-Cros foothills. Côtes de Provence as well as a small production of olive oil.
A FAMILY SPIRIT, CONSTANTLY STRIVING FOR QUALITY
Conscious of its role in the preservation of the local ecosystem, Domaine La Tourraque
cultivates the land in a way that fully respects this protected area of nature and its exceptional biodiversity. The south-facing exposure of the hills together with a predominantly clay and schistose soil make this land particularly apt for viticulture. The micro-climate preserves the quality of the grapes, and this is reinforced by the restrictions placed on yields limitations and continuous tillage. The wines are produced in compliance with organic farming regulations.
AN ESTATE TO BE DISCOVERED
The Team of the estate introduces his guests, on Fridays, upon reservation, to a wine tasting, or visits of the vineyard and cellar at the Estate.
